WAITING FOR DINNER

Tue Oct 13, 2009, 12:31 PM
◆Your name?
Potato Satan

◆If possible, your age?
19

◆When did you start drawing?
Um, I think I was about three years old.

◆Which hand do you use for drawing?
Right.

◆Which is easier to draw - male or female?
ooh gurl.

◆Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Long hair, actually. Though I like drawing short hair more.

◆Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
I think both are about the same difficulty for me, but most of the time they end up facing left.
Perhaps I just contradicted myself.

◆Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
Front view.

◆What do you have problems in drawing?
Limbs piss me off. "WHAT DO I DO WITH YOU GUYS." static poses ftl

◆What do you like to draw?
Cephalopods and ladies in evening wear.

◆Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I can do both, but I do more digital art.

◆Where do you start drawing from?
"I do the circle for the head, and then I go from there."

^^^^ What she said.

◆What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
Er, I don't know.

◆Any tips for coloring/shading?
Don't be afraid of colors!! Go crazy!
For shading, my cliche thing to say is to observe light sources. Also, if you're a beginner, try cell shading rather than soft, blended shading if you're learning the ups and downs of lighting. I started with shitty air brushy shading when I first got a digital art program, and I didn't really improve until I tinkered around with cell shading.

◆How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
It depends. A marker piece may take one to three hours, but a digital piece is drastically longer.

◆What music do you listen to while you draw?
What I listen to when I'm not drawing. It really depends on my mood. lol

◆How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Er... lol
But art blocks do come all too often and last a bazillion years.

◆Your favorite drawing utensils?
Ball point pens, actually.

◆Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Yellow's my favorite color.
My art almost always has yellow and/or purple tones in it, I think.

◆Your favorite style(s)?
B)

◆What kind of artist are you aiming for?
I don't think I'll ever make it a career, but I still want to draw comics and children's books.

◆Thank you. Now please fill in the next columns by writing the names of the artists that match the criteria. Artists tagged must fill in this baton.
